You are a corn farmer trying to maximize your profit and the size of your farm. You have different strains of a genetically engineered sunshine sweet corn at your disposal to plant. Throughout your life your farm will face winds, swarms of locust, hungry bugs and seasons of drought. You must discover the optimal variation, if any, of the strains of sunshine sweet corn and how to plant them relative to each other to make bank and reach retirement. Each plant returns a certain amount of money each year and can take damage as well. Light blue sweet corn does well against the wind, dark blue corn tastes great after a dry season, red corn does well against pests and locust swarms, the original yellow corn tastes good and the big sweet corn tastes good and gives the buyer more food but it holds up worse in poor growing conditions. The more damaged a corn is the less it is worth and it become darker. Better tasting corn is worth at the end of the season. Each season you have constant costs for you farm equipment as well as 3 dollars per corn crop. Each crop costs 10 dollars so you must have at least 10 dollars to plant the selected crop.
In level 1 your goal is to survive 20 years with 100$ and you may plant each season. In level 2 your goal is to survive 20 years and double your profits. You may not plant anymore after the initial planting in the second level.
Play Instructions: To start the game press the green play button in the bottom left corner. The black box is your planter, use the arrow keys to move it and press space bar to plant the selected strain of corn. The selected strain is shown in the top left corner of the screen and may be changed using the A and S keys. You must have at least 10 dollars to plant a corn crop. The amount of money you have and the current year are displayed in the bottom right corner. When you are ready for a season to start you may push enter but you should not do so till you have planted as much corn as possible. (Hint: If your displayed money does not change or you cannot move the selector push e). You may not plant outside of the dirt or next to the edge. Also you may not plant mid season.
